What is Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) describes wireless technology networks based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. This designation was created by the Wi-Fi Alliance, a regulatory agency for best practices in the industry. Wi-Fi networks are generally located in venues called hotspots, public spaces that provide wireless internet access. The equipment (access points - APs) usually covers a 100-meter radius and broadcasts the Internet signal to any device with a Wi-Fi Connection.
